Marble Cake

I recently went to Florida with my family to visit my Grandma, Aunt, and Uncle. While we were there, my Grandma showed me how to make her famous marble cake.

You'll need:

2 C flour
1 1/3 C sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 C oil
1 C milk
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp cocoa
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp hot water

Now you're ready

Preheat your oven to 325°F
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

In a separate bowl, combine the eggs

with the sugar and vanilla, then add the oil and milk

Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients like they were meant to be together and pour them into your pan

Now set that aside and get ready for the best chocolate paste you ever had!
Basically, you're going to combine equal parts cocoa and sugar.
We went with 6 tablespoons of each with Grandma, which turned out to be a lot.
I definitely recommend 6 Tbsps, but 3's the more standard amount

Slowly slowly add hot water to your cocoa sugar powder

Add a little water, stir, add some more.
Go slowly, you can always add more water.
Then again, if you end up with too much water you could always add more cocoa and sugar, which wouldn't be a bad thing!

You're aiming for a thick runny paste

Pour this heavenly creation over your cake mix

And immediately call dibs on whatever you mixed the chocolate paste in!

Top with chocolate chips and send that cake off to the oven for an hour

Let cool, slip a knife between the cake and the edges to make sure it'll pop out, and enjoy!
